And the Winner is . . .

Today we received notification that 3 of Ryan's 4 photographs from the Reflections contest were declared winners!!!  The single American Flag photo was the only non-winner.  Now the 3 winning photos go on to divisionals.  Way to go Ryan!!

Today marks our 13th wedding anniversary.  Woot Woot!

Birthday Fun!

Today we celebrated Ashton's 8th Birthday.  He really wanted a Vikings Cake for the big day which we accomplished.  Lots of thanks to Aunt Sondra for the training!!!  He also wanted a Vikings jersey for his birthday but Uncle Luke and Sondra surprised him with the entire uniform!!!  I think he had a fabulous day!!

Art-y Pants

Tonight our family visited the Georgetown Scott County Museum for the "Reflections Art Show".  Ryan entered 4 photographs into a contest at school and all the entries were on display.  It was a nice event.  Here are the 4 photos Ryan entered . . .

These photos are the un-cropped ones.  He actually took these to Wal-Mart and zoomed and cropped.  I don't have a digital copy of the actual entry photographs.  We had a fun time walking around downtown Georgetown to find just the right photo opp!  He had a good time and did a great job!  The theme for the contest was "Together we Can" - so he had to incorporate that into his photos. 

Ryan actually took the photo at the top of this blog post of the Museum, but it was not one he entered into the contest.

Wall of Fame!

Today I was able to attend the Eastern Elementary "Wall of Fame Celebration".  It was to celebrate the accomplishments of the students who scored "distinguished or proficient" on last years CATS test.  CATS stands for Commonweath Accountability Testing.  This is a test that kids start taking in 3rd grade.  Ethan scored distinguished in Math and Reading.  We were pleased!!

Fall weather fun

Today was a beautiful day.  After school the kids played outside with a bunch of their neighborhood friends.  After Matt got home from work we continued to stay outside while he trimmed our tree.  Ethan, Ryan and Brinley enjoyed helping out their dad.

Ashton, on the other hand, enjoyed trading football cards with his buddy Donovan on the sewer.

Today we were lucky enough to have lunch with some of our favorite people!  Our friends from Georgia made a surprise visit and so we decided lunch together was in order!  Hooray for us!!
