Time Out!

As you may or may not have noticed I am on a Blogging Time Out. One day soon, I will update with all the happenings of the Clayburn Household from the past month or so.

Until then, here is a quote I read at the boys school yesterday. I like it!

"Life is a Game . . . play by the rules!"

Smell My Feet

Tonight was our Ward Truck or Treat/Chili Cook-off. It was great except for . . . no tables were set up when event was to begin . . . no bowls at all, had to eat chili from a cup . . . no one in charge, whatsoever . . . So other than those minor details it was a great night! Oh, and I won 2nd place in the chili cook off. I thought my chili was horrible, but word has it that a 6 year old who may/may not have my same last name snuck a few extra votes in for chili #3! Ha!

Ethan was Obi Wan Kenobe (sorry no photo), Ashton was a Power Ranger, Ryan was a Doctor and Brinley was Princess.

The Birthday Girl is 3!

Today was Brinley's 3rd Birthday. She had a fun day at home opening loads of gifts from her Grandparents, Cousins, Aunts and Uncles . . . etc. For her special dinner she opted to go to McDonald's. What more could you ask for than a happy meal for your birthday!

I'm 3!

Look at all my gifts and cards!

Thursday Morning Laughs

Q. Why don't mummies take vacations?
A. They're afraid they'll relax and unwind.

Q. Why don't witches like to ride their brooms when they're angry?
A. They're afraid of flying off the handle!

Q. How did the ghost patch his sheet?
A. With a pumpkin patch.

Q. Why did the tiny ghost join the football squad?
A. He heard they needed a little team spirit!

Q. Why didn't the skeleton dance at the party?
A. He had no body to dance with.

Q. What do you get when you drop a pumpkin?
A. Squash!

The Wolf Pack!

Here is a picture I took tonight of Ethan's Wolf Den from Cub Scouts. There activity was to pick up trash around the church building. Aren't they a cute bunch?

She's a Big Girl Now!

Tonight was Brinley's first night in a big girl bed. No more cribs for us!!! We have been a 2 crib family for a very long time, so it is a little strange for there to be no cribs around. Ryan, who shares a room with Brinley, didn't like that she was in a big bed and protested by sleeping in "Grandma's Chair" in the toy room.

She slept soundly through the night and didn't get out once!

Fire Engine Parade

Today we took the kids to the Fire Prevention Parade. There were probably 100 or so fire engine type vehicles. They were represented from Lexington, Georgetown, Scott County, Stamping Ground, Paris, Bourbon Co., Dry Ridge, and more. It was very impressive. We were lucky enough to run into some friends from the ward. Their daughter was in Ethan's class last year and he thinks she is pretty neat!

Fall Break Playdate!

Today I organized a last minute playdate at the playground behind the boys' school. We had 7 families from the ward show up. It was a fun time except for the millions of yellowjackets that we had to deal with. Here are some pictures of the fun. . .

Parade City

The town where we live, Georgetown, has many parades. I think it has more parades than any other city. Okay, I made that up, but I think it may be true. They have a lot of parades here. In the next 6 days there are 3 parades.

The first 2 I am listing are affiliated with The Festival of the Horse.

Tonight, Friday, October 2nd 6:30pm - Colt & Filly Review - Kids Parade (Main Street)

Tomorrow, Saturday, October 3rd 6:00pm - Toyota Grand Parade of Horses (Main Street)

Thursday, October 8th 7:00pm - Fire Prevention Parade (Main Street) This parade is during Fire Prevention Week which is next week.

If you live in town, or around town come and join in the fun. There are also carnival rides, craft booths, carnival food, and lots and lots of good people watching. For the complete schedule of The Festival of the Horse click HERE.

Starving Artists?

Today I got out the markers and some large pieces of paper and let the kids do some artwork. They had so much fun making their creations. Here is a sampling of their work.

Happy Birthday Riley!

Today is our niece, Riley's birthday. She is the big #8! We wish her a very Happy Birthday!!!
