Wedding Day!

Only in a Small Town
Police say that sometime between 10:30pm Tuesday night and 5am Wednesday morning the buses at the Scott County bus garage were vandalized. Read this story . . .

Multiple Scott County buses were vandalized overnight. Scott County Schools Superintendent Patricia Putty said the ignition systems of 43 buses located in the bus parking area behind the transportation were vandalized when the vandals broke off the bus keys.
Putty said the district's mechanics Darrin Biddle and Bobby Gillespie were able to get the buses running this morning.
"Our first priority is to get the students to school safely, and we did," Putty said.
The cost to the schools for the vandalism has yet to be determined.
"We're hoping the camera will be able to give us more information to at least see who the perpetrators were," Putty said.
On the news tonight they said that they leave all the keys in the ignition and have for the past 28 years JUST IN CASE THEY HAVE TO CALL IN A SUBSTITUTE DRIVER. They decided they MAY have to make some changes such as put a fence around the facility, put more security cameras in place and LEAVE THE KEYS IN A SAFER PLACE. HELLLLLOOOOO PEOPLE! ARE YOU SERIOUS? Can you believe that it took someone 28 years to figure this out. Holy Cow, only in a small town!

Grab your Dancing Shoes, Grandma!
Today while cruising around in the car, Ryan (our 4 year old) out of nowhere said: "Mom, we need to put some music on our "log" for Grandma. Then she can dance to it." I guess I will post some dance music for you tomorrow, Grandma! Enjoy!

Sometimes you like where you live, sometimes you don't. I have grown to love living in the State of Kentucky (most of the time). Here is a little history lesson on the state which I live!

Today our neighbor's grandpa came over to show them his new puppy. It is a Boarder Collie named Sam and is cute as can be. (You didn't just hear me say that!)
Most of my children are deathly afraid of dogs. It may or may not be because their mother may or may not be afraid of dogs too. So I was shocked when Ethan just went crazy over this dog. He seriously would not let him leave his side.

Who Knew?
A lady got up very early one morning and went outside to pickup the Sunday paper, she noticed someone had sprayed red paint all around the sides of the neighbors brand new beige truck. She went over and woke him up and gave him the bad news. He was, of course extremely upset.
And they stood there trying to figure out what could be done about the problem. They decided there wasn't much recourse but to wait until Monday, since nothing was open.
Just then another neighbor came out of his house, surveyed the situation and immediately went to get his WD-40 out and cleaned the red paint off with it. Guess What! It cleaned up that paint without harming the original paint on the truck! I'm impressed!!
Water Displacement #40. The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect Missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three Technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a 'water displacement' compound. They were successful with the fortieth formulation, thus WD-40. The Corvair Company bought it in bulk to protect their atlas missile parts.
Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40
that would hurt you... ' IT IS MADE FROM FISH OIL' . When you read the 'shower door' part, try it. It's the first thing that has ever cleaned that spotty shower door. If yours is plastic, it works just as well as glass. It is a miracle! Then try it on your stovetop... It is now shinier than it has ever been before.

Where do I belong?
I took a quiz on facebook today which determines which place you should live. It asked me about 10 random questions and figures it out from there. Here is my result:
You belong in Italy. You love sunny destinations, but a nice beach isn't the only thing you need. In Italy you can find culture everywhere and the food is delicious. You have the big vibrant cities, but also lovely little towns where the people are warm and hospitable. This country has everything you need, great weather, passionate people, beautiful surroundings and big vibrant cities filled with culture.
The only problem is I would never, ever fly that far to get to my dream destination. It takes long enough just to fly to Salt Lake City. Also, I do not need the beach. I'd rather hang out in the mountains. If you ask me the place I belong is . . . . hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. . . . . . .
back in South Ogden, Utah (maybe?) I don't really know, ask me again tomorrow.

Fifty, Nifty, United States - test your knowledge
I received this little game from a lady in our ward. Matt and I both did it and we did pretty well. I beat Matt on accuracy, but he beat me on speed!
All you do is look at the top of the page and drag'n'drop the state where it belongs. Smart map, varies the order of the states' placement with each new try!
When you first start its a little difficult placing the states. It needs to be almost exact!
It isn't easy [Mostly because of placing a state in the precise location, when it as yet has no boundaries in place, is a bit tricky!]
No half credit for close but a tad over.....
Wonder how a high school senior would do on this one? See how you do in placing the states of the United States of America.

Just a Typical Saturday!
Well today started off relatively normal. Matt and I slept in, the kids destroyed the house in protest, Ryan decorated his hair with bows, etc.
For some reason, Ashton got sent to time out. It could have been for a number of reasons, just pick one and run with it. I ran upstairs to find a recipe online while Matt was doing who knows what. Next thing we know Ashton is screaming and Ethan is apologizing profuessly or however you spell that word.
Come to find out Ethan was spinning Ashton around and they tripped over each others feet and Ashton came down on the corner of our end table. Ouch!!!
So onto the Urgent Care Center for the 2nd time this week. Good golly. However, we went to the brand new one (next to Wal-Mart, behind Gold Star Chili) and it was fantastic. We arrived at 1:00pm and we were out the door, all stitched up by 1:35pm. Thank heavens.
Of course Ashton was very brave. He had 2 stitches and didn't cry an ounce (until we left the facility and then he let it pour out).
Since Ashton is overly active I am sure this won't be the last time he gets stitches.
And by the way, Georgetown residents, the new UTC (which isn't affiliated with the one across from Arby's) is open 10-8pm. That is 1 hour later than the other one.

Going Once, Going Twice, SOLD!
This week due to my hurt wrist Matt has taken off some time from work to help me around the house, do errands, etc. Yesterday I needed to run to Lexington to pick up some shoes that were on hold for Ethan. There were NO SHOES his size in Georgetown, believe it or not. So I convinced Matt to drive me to the mall. While there we decided to grab some lunch. We went to a very yummy chinese restaurant and sitting next to us was John Michael Montgomery's wife. I'm serious! How do I know? Because I eavesdrop like the best of them. I found a picture of her online and YEP, it was her. Matt thought there was no way because she wasn't drop dead gorgeous, but then again, he isn't either (I am referring to John Michael, not Matt Silly!). Check out his choker necklace! (No offense to choker necklace fans). He lives in the Lexington area, ya know! I do have to say that I love his song, "SOLD!" (JoFra, didn't we clog to that song with the Rickster up in Troy?)
Wild and Crazy Bowler Mom!
Last Tuesday I took myself to the Urgent Care to have my wrist checked out. It had been hurting me for quite some time. The doctor "thinks" I may have a ganglion cyst on the top of my wrist. So for the next 2 weeks I need to wear a nerdy brace (which Matt wants to divorce me over) and take some anti-inflammatory meds. Hopefully it goes away on its own, otherwise they will order a CT scan and possibly refer me to an orthopedic surgeon. So until then I just look like I've left Galaxy Bowl and forgot to take off my "gear".

Custom Sidewalk, Anyone?
Today I had the best laugh, unfortunately at my neighbors expense. You see the city has been redoing sections of our sidewalk since there were several places that were unlevel. So the past few days they have been digging up the old sidewalk, pouring rocks in, etc. Well today was the day to pour the concrete. They put yellow caution tape around the areas, but it wasn't very secure.
We actually came home today as they were pouring the cement. I didn't think much about it other than wishing I could put my handprint in the wet cement or put Amy + Matt 2009 or something else quirky like that. So I took the kids inside (the 2 that were home) and went on with our business. About 10 minutes later my next door neighbor called me in a panic.
Neighbor: "Amy, did you see what my daughter just did?"
Me: "No, what did she do?"
Neighbor: "She walked all over the new sidewalk"
Me: "Let me look out my window and see"
Me: "Oh my gosh, what are you going to do?"
Neighbor: "I don't know . . . I don't have money to pay for them to fix this"
Me: "Call Randy (home builder fix it man) and tell him to send the crew back over"
Neighbor: "Okay, bye!"
So after I hung up the phone I couldn't stop laughing. I called her back and said, "You need to take some pictures. In about a year you will think this was really funny".
She wouldn't - she was still a little mortified, so I did.
Anyway, the people came back, the little girl apologized to the workers and made them lemonade and all is well.
P.S. Sorry neighbor but I am still laughing!

I'm a Winner times Two!
Today was a great day. First off, I won some blog candy from my awesome neighbor's blog!!! I won 2 hair clippies and 2 hairbows . . . all made by HER!! Thank you Kristin, you are the bestest!!! The picture does not even come close to do them justice. They are just sooo sooo darling!!
Now on to the next item I won. Today was the "Star Store" at the boys school. It comes around to their classroom about once every 6 weeks. During the previous 6 weeks the students can earn "star dollars". They earn these by having good behavior, completing extra work, etc. So Ethan had 15 star dollars. When he came home from school he said, "look Mom, I bought this binder today from the Star Store. It cost me 15 star dollars and I had extactly 15 star dollars. I bought it for you for your scrapbook". Okay, is this the sweetest boy EVER??? Of course, I absolutely love it.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss
Tonight I took the boys to a Dr. Seuss Birthday Party at the Elementary School. The kids each brought a book to the book swap, ate birthday cake, listened to a book reading, made crafts and had a photo shoot. They had a super time.
