McConnell Springs Photo Shoot

Today in between running errands we decided to go to McConnell Springs in Lexington and visit their Irish Festival.  Ryan needed to go to an International Festival for part of his Citizenship in the World Merit Badge requirements.  The festival was horrible, but we enjoyed taking pictures on some of the fun landscapes this place has to offer.

Matt was showing the kids how to click their heels in the air.  Unfortunately I wasn't quick enough to grab a good picture of this.

Surprise!

Today we drove up to Cincinnati to celebrate Matt's birthday with his Sister's family as well as his Mom who was in town. Once we arrived at their house, his sister Sarah said there was a surprise for him in the basement. To his surprise, his sister April from Arizona appeared. What a nice surprise!

We had a great visit with everyone. We had a delicious BBQ, wonderful birthday cake, and lots of fun!

Happy Birthday to You, and You, and You!

glitter-graphics.com

A big Happy Birthday to my sister-in-law Kristy today! We wish we could be there to join in the festivities.

Normally we like to upload a singing telegram on here, but we've been experiencing technical difficulties in that department! Therefore we have done NOTHING. Sorry guys!

So since we haven't done so until now . . . .

Happy Belated Birthdays to: Uncle Michael, Uncle Tye, Whittni (niece), Kyle (nephew), Aubry (niece), Aunt Sarah and Dylan (nephew).

Fun Saturday Drive

Today we were asked to drive down to Scout Camp and pick up all the gear. (One of the perks of driving a truck!) We got up bright and early and headed towards Eastern Kentucky (1.5 hours away). The scenery was beautiful. Here are a few pictures from the event! And yes, Matt is wearing a tye-dyed shirt. Don't ask!

We Went . . . and Ryan Scored!

We ended up going to the Legends game last night since we had to return library books to the library close to Applebee's Park. We got in for $5 total (Brinley was FREE), parking was $3 and the kids ate for FREE. Matt got 2 foul balls (one for Ashton, one for Ethan) and Ryan schmoozed his way into getting 3 balls given to him by the ball players. It was a very fun and super inexpensive evening out with the kids!

We hit the JACKPOT!

Today we received a wonderful package in the mail from my brother and his girlfriend. Ashton was the lucky one that was home (and not sleeping) at the time of delivery. I think he felt like it was a little "taste" of heaven! The package was FILLED with St. Louis Cardinals Pez Dispensors, Pop Rocks, Mentos Gum, GIANT Cheetos, booger/soap/earwax flavored Jelly Beans (yum yum), batteries (Energizer, of course), Wet Ones (we are slobs), Oreo Sticks, and the list goes on. Thank you guys. Oh - and don't tell Brinley that she had a bag of Giant Cheetos.

Our day trip to Cincinnati

Today we traveled north to visit Matthew's sister Sarah and her family. We started the day off playing frisbee and baseball. We then had a delicious BBQ'd dinner. I think it might have been the best meal I've ever had. Everything tasted so yummy. We then ventured over to their friend's house around the corner for an egg hunt. This family also joined us for dinner. The kids had a good time finding the eggs with their name on it. After the fun filled egg hunt we went back to Sarah's for a delicious dessert. The weather was great, the company was even better. Thanks guys for hosting another fantastic Easter!!
