Current Lunch Date View

For whatever reason, Matt has been extremely busy at work lately.  This is how we spent our lunch together last week.  This has become our new normal.  It stinks!  He gets to work at 7am, after dropping Ethan off at Seminary.  He "usually" gets a lunch break, and comes home around 6:30-7pm.   Yuck. Since January, Matt has worked 250 hours of overtime.  Unfortunately he is not compensated for overtime.  No money, no time compensation.  Grrrrr.

Another Favorite!

Today was (possibly) my last day working for the U.S. Census Bureau. My day consisted of driving to Paris, KY then to Frankfort, KY. After a couple short meetings at both locations, I headed back to Georgetown. After a short stint in G-Town I ventured back to Frankfort. While there, me and my assistants (Ryan and Brinley) pulled over to the Scenic Overlook at took a nice picture of the Kentucky State Capital. It is a different view than we have taken before. It is such a beautiful place. Following our 2 second diversion, we continued on to our meeting, just in time for it to be moved to Paris. So back we went to Paris. After a brief meeting there I headed back to another quick meeting in Georgetown. I logged 160 miles today!

I have absolutely loved working for the U.S. Census Bureau. I have met a lot of wonderful people as well as some total goonbirds! I guess that is what makes the world go round, right? I will miss my job, but will be even more prepared and ready in 10 years when the decennial census returns. Until then . . .

I Promise!

I promise I didn't forget that I had a blog. After I get some of my Census work completed, I MAY resort back to posting. Hooray!

Lunch with Friends

Today we made our normal trek to Troy, MO to meet up with Matt's former co-workers for lunch. Lucky for me they always accomodate our request to eat at Krumbly Burger. My family has been going to Krumbly Burger for the past 20 years. I have so many memories associated with this fast food restaurant. The first time we ate there was when we moved from Minneapolis to St. Louis back in 1989. This is the fast food joint we picked while traveling thru. Other memories include eating there on the way to Nauvoo, IL with my family as well as my church single adult group. But the best memories were when my friend JoLynn and I would eat there on our way to clogging!! Good times!!

Toyota Tsusho Christmas Party 2008

Tonight was Matt's work Christmas Party. The nice thing about their Christmas Party is the entire family is invited. It was held at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Lexington. They provide a room for you to drop off your children that is monitored by several young adults. In the room they had crafts, snacks, movies, bounce house, bounce slide, and more. Even Brinley joined in the fun this year. They had a special buffet for the children which included chicken strips, mac and cheese, hot dogs, and more. The kids were in HEAVEN! (and so were Matt and I). We had to "check out" our children for dinner and when Santa arrived. Santa brought gifts to each of our children. Unfortunately Ryan is totally freaked out by Santa so Matt had to sit on Santa's lap to recieve Ryan's gift. The kids had a great time. They were lucky enough to play with a few friends from their school that were also at the party. Matt also had some good luck. He won the grand prize. It was a Tom Tom GPS. When he went up to get the prize he notified them he didn't need a GPS because he has a wife. Good man!!! It was a really nice night. I actually look forward to his company Christmas Party each year.
