Cell Project - Ashton

Ashton had a big project due last week.  He had to make a 3-D cell, either animal or plant. He chose animal.  Believe it or not, it was pretty painless to put together.  The photo taking seemed to be more painful for Ashton haha.  He received a perfect score.  Woot Woot!!

McConnell Springs Photo Shoot

Today in between running errands we decided to go to McConnell Springs in Lexington and visit their Irish Festival.  Ryan needed to go to an International Festival for part of his Citizenship in the World Merit Badge requirements.  The festival was horrible, but we enjoyed taking pictures on some of the fun landscapes this place has to offer.

Mining Merit Badge Fun!

Today Ryan and Ashton (and 2 of Ryan's buddies) attended a special Merit Badge Fair held at the Mining and Minerals Resource Building on the University of Kentucky Campus.  They offered 8 different merit badge classes.  Because of church basketball, Ashton only attended the morning session.  Ryan attended both sessions.  Ryan earned the Mining in Society MB and also the Soil & Water MB.  Ashton earned the Geology MB.  It was a great, free event.

Learning from the Experts!

Today I took the kids to Whitaker Ballpark to take part in a baseball clinic put on by Chevy and the Lexington Legends baseball team.  They are the farm team of the Kansas City Royals.  It was sooooo fun!  It included a t-shirt, 3 hours of instruction, autographs galore and ended with lunch.  It was all F.R.E.E.!!

The 3 boys participated with 3 friends.   Brinley, other Moms and I watched from the seats.  It was a great day!

Goodbye Cast!

Today was another appointment for Ashton.   They first removed the black cast.  After that, they took more xray pictures of his arm to make sure the bone still looked good.  Everything looked great!  Hooray!

Dr. Seuss Fun!

Today at school they had a Dr. Seuss Birthday Party.  It was put on by the PTA so I was able to help out.  Here are some pictures of the event (plus a few other Seuss pictures from this week)

This is a fun craft that Ryan's class did today.  Since I was the mom helper, I had Brinley make one.  This is hers.

This is a bed sheet that a student teacher painted for our party tonight.  It was used for a fishing game.  The same teacher painted the Thing 1 and Thing 2 photo prop.  Quite talented!!
