Fight with Paperclip

Today Ethan received an "appliance" to help reduce the thumb sucking situation we have dealt with for the past 11 years!

He sounds super funny when he talks.  We could not stop laughing.  Ethan LOVES the way he sounds.  He is a good sport.  Immediately following his appointment he was headed back to school to present an oral report.  I asked him if he was embarrassed and his reply was, "this is awesome!  I love this bad boy!"  He ended up with a 116/120 for his report.  Not too shabby!  He hopefully will have this removed in a month or two.

Spacers first, Braces second - for Ethan

Last week Ethan got spacers put on at the Orthodontist office.  Today he got braces.  Good times!  He picked UK blue for his color choice.  He looks great in his new metal!

Teeth

Today I took all four kids to the dentist for cleanings.  Luckily they were all cavity free!  Ryan had a loose tooth when we arrived and when the hygeniest was blowing the air on his tooth, it would flip up.  She ended up just pulling it.  When it was out, it was easy to see why it was sooo loose.  The other tooth was already quite a ways out.

We found out that Ethan has only 1 baby tooth left - so he gets to visit the orthodontist soon . . . . like Monday.

We found out that Ashton has 5 loose teeth, Brinley has 4 loose teeth.

All in all it was a nice dental visit.  Hooray!

Toothless Wonder

Today Ryan lost his 2nd tooth this week.  The 1st tooth was lost a couple of weeks ago.  He was excited for the tooth fairy to actually visit him!!

All I Want for Christmas . . . .

Today Ashton lost his 2 front teeth. Our neighbor had the priviledge of pulling them out. She is now 5 for 5.

Uno - Dos - Tres!

Today Ashton lost his 3rd tooth. This was a MAJOR feat for him. The only part he likes about having a loose tooth is the potential for some moolah when it's all said and done. We tried for DAYS to get this tooth out with no luck. Then Ashton decided to visit our next door neighbor to seek some help. She has been the only person who can get his teeth out without a major panic attack. Once again, she was successful and the tooth came flying out. She is now 3 for 3! Thank you neighbor!

All I Want for Christmas is My 2 Front Teeth?

Today while Matt and I (mostly Matt) were cleaning up the kitchen we heard a large bang following by horrible crying. We walked around our kitchen counter to see Brinley on the ground with my Sizzix Big Shot on her face. She had pulled it down on top of her and it hit her right in the mouth. Here is a link to the Big Shot. You will notice it weighs 12 pounds!!

Click HERE to view the Big Shot die cut machine.

So after Matt checked her out we think she may be okay? A little blood around her 2 front teeth and a very scared face is the damage. I think 1 of her teeth may be loose, but Matt doesn't think so.

I just don't want my cute little 2 year old to have missing front teeth this early in life. Some of you may remember when Ethan knocked out 1 of his front teeth when he was 3. It took YEARS for the new tooth to come in.

I was too traumatized to take a picture of the "incident". I will keep you posted! I guess it won't be too bad if her tooth/teeth fall out . . . we do live in Kentucky now!!!

Thank you Tami for helping me insert a link!
