Oh, what a feeling!

Last night's game was INCREDIBLE!  Josh Harrellson (from St. Charles, MO) was INCREDIBLE!  We had so much fun watching THE game.  We even let all our kids stay up (til midnight) to watch THE game.  Ethan was the only one who did.  He was pumped!  Now let's do a number on North Carolina!!

Go Wildcats!!

Friday Funny

Please join me in remembering YET ANOTHER great icon of the entertainment community.

R.I.P. Pillsbury Doughboy

The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71. Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times, he still was a crusty old man and was considered a positive roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, three children: John Dough, Jane Dough and Dosey Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

(okay, so he "died" November 2008) so I'm a little late.  Oh well!)

Follow the Prophet

While blog stalking today, I came across this post from http://murrayandmathews.blogspot.com/.  I thought what she wrote was excellent advise.  She writes:

If you have a planned surgery or having a baby, you should plan accordingly and stock your freezer full of meals for your family. It's a different scenario of course for emergency illnesses. Somehow, we need to re-educate people to be self-reliant and pre-plan for when you are ill. Freezer meals are an excellent way to take care of your family when you are unable cook dinner - everyone should check it out.

Freezer recipes from One Crazy Cookie here.

Freezer recipes from Mom's Budget here. She also has basic information on Freezer Cooking here.

I found a great link to a book - but she also provided lots of recipes. The Cream Cheese Chicken recipe I made last week was one of the recipes she listed. The book is called 30 meals in one day and at this link she provides many free recipes.

There are many great sites and ideas out in blog land. Here are just a few to help you plan to be self-reliant, save money and time at the same time.

She pretty much gives you all the info you need to begin.  What a wonderful way to eat healthy, save time, save money, and Follow the Prophet by becoming more self-reliant!

Article of Faith Cards

These Article of Faith cards from http://www.latterdaychatter.net/ are so cute.  Go check them out.  My suggestion is to print them out on cardstock and then place them into an inexpensive photo album (like the $1-2 ones) and plop them into your Sunday Bag.  Then your children can be working on memorizing them during the Sacrament.  Good plan?

Cub Scouts is the BEST!

Tonight Ethan and Ashton both made something super great at Cub Scouts.  We are so lucky that they both have WONDERFUL, GREAT, FANTASTIC den leaders!!  We seriously couldn't have scored any better!

Ashton made a key holder.  Isn't it super?

Ethan made a bird feeder as well as a poster about his favorite animal . . . the stingray.  His turned out great too!!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

This week at the kids' schools they are doing fun things regarding Dr. Seuss.  Yesterday at Brinley's school they had to wear silly socks since they were reading The Foot Book.  Today they read Green Eggs and Ham, so they got to sample that.  I was lucky enough to volunteer there today so I grabbed a few pictures of the event.  Tomorrow they need to wear either Red or Blue for the book One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish.  Fun times!

The regular looking egg mixture

Adding the green food coloring

The green mixture . . .  sick!

Ms. Luxmore cookin them up!

Ms. Tierney reading the book
Yuck . . . I mean . . . YUM!

Brinley not knowing what to think!

Playing with food is so much more fun!

All done!  (and she didn't like any of it!)

More File Folders are in!

Latter-day Chatter has a new file folder game in her store.  It is called Pickin' Apples and it is soooo cute.  One of the many great things about this game is the fact it is for an older child.  I feel like usually the file folder games are for nursery/sunbeam age children.  This one is different.  If you have a child learning about nouns and verbs, rush over and pick this one up!  You'll be glad!

Here is a link to her store.  The cost is only $2.50!  Wowzers!

Waterfall Goodness

We decided to drive by the waterfall again today to see if it changed overnight due to the rain.  It did rise a little bit more.  Rain, rain go away!!

Ryan took this beauty

Our family loves this waterfall.  I am pretty sure you realize that.  I post about it often.  It is practically another member of our family!  haha

Sharing Time Cards

Jessica at Latter-day Chatter has designed some really great Sharing Time Cards.  These are cards with the weekly theme for Sharing Time, so the kids could look at them throughout the year and remember the lessons they’ve learned.  Best part, they are FREE!  Check them out here!  Remember to let her know that Amy C. sent you!

P.S.  The Latter-day Bird contest I am participating in has extended to March 7th.  I am currently in the lead by 3 peeps.  Thanks to all that have "liked" LDC and let her know that I sent you.  I appreciate it!!  Hopefully I can get a few more likes this week so I can win the big ol box of goodies!
