Snow Day!

Today the kids had a snow day.    A few weeks ago my friends and I purchased a "groupon deal" for a local Bounce House Fun Center.  We purchased this with the plan that we would use it on the next snow day.  Well today was the day.

On the drive to the bounce house in Lexington I commented on how pretty the snow and ice was.  Brinley commented, "it looks like Jack Frost was here last night!"

Here are a couple of pictures of the ice followed by a few bounce house pictures.  It is nearly impossible to get a good picture of them playing since they are constantly on the go-go-go!

Today we decided to drive between Georgetown and Frankfort to see the pretty snowfall.

Today is the 3rd snowday IN A ROW. Yes, I enjoy me a snowday or two . . . but after two I protest! Please let there be SCHOOL tomorrow!!!

Yay for Today!

Today is the 1st snow day of the 2009-2010 school year. I am actually happy for it. I'm sure if you ask me later . . . my happiness may have disappeared. At least for now, while I am still warm in my bed, I am happy!

So today after I found out there will be no school again tomorrow, I decided to think about all the positives in this situation. First positive is I get to sleep in. Hooray! Second positive (this might be the first) is when it snows here DQ offers Buy One Get One Free Blizzards. So it isn't so bad after all when the snow falls. I just have to keep telling myself that!

News Flash

No school tomorrow. Hmmm . . . not looking good for summer vacation!

I looked out the window and what did I see?

More Snow! Ashton and Ethan went to school today (yah!) but they started out with a 1 hour delay. No biggie. More sleep - yipee! Then while waiting at the bus stop to pick up Ashton I got a message saying that Ryan's preschool had been cancelled. Darn! Then I got a phone call from the Elementary School saying that the bus can not bring Ashton home since the roads were so bad. Instead I got to venture out and pick Ashton up. Since I was already there I signed Ethan out for the day. No more perfect Attendance for him. Oh well. Now we are sitting at home (again!) and watching the snow fall. Just like last week the flakes are huge. All I know is winter can't get over soon enough!!!

Snow Day! (but not today)

These pictures were taken on December 16th when the kids had a snow day. It was one of the few times that school was cancelled and there was actually some snow. Today school was cancelled. Not because of snow, but because of the COLD. It was 9 degrees at lunchtime. Brrrrr!

The boys had a great time playing with our neighbors Evan and Cailey in the very rare Kentucky Snow!

It's Raining, It's SNOWING!

It is snowing here. That is not that common this early in the year. My kids are counting on no school tomorrow. You'd think that would be a fat chance, but last year they cancelled school since there was snow in the forecast. That day it didn't even snow! Sorry for the below par photos. If it is still around tomorrow I will take better pictures that will include the kiddos!
