Gobble, Gobble in Cincinnati

This Thanksgiving we were lucky enough to spend it with family. Last year we weren't as lucky and spent it at Cracker Barrel (gasp!) We traveled up Thanksgiving morning to Cincinnati where Matt's sister Sarah and family live. We had a great time. Notice that Abigail (our neice) had a not so traditional Thanksgiving meal? You will also see a bowl of what looks like: a). croutons b). dog food c). stuffing or d). carmelized pecans. If you guessed stuffing . . . well you are better than me. Just kidding Sarah. The stuffing didn't look very good, but it ended up being delicious! The kids had a great time playing together. All in all it was a wonderful Thanksgiving day! Thanks Sarah and Eric for letting us invade your space!

Happy Thanksgiving to You, Happy Anniversary to Me!

In addition to Thanksgiving, today is our Anniversary. We have been married for 11 fun-filled years. This is the 3rd time our anniversary has fallen on Turkey Day, including the day we were married! Enjoy the pictures. Some day a few of you MAY have the wonderful opportunity of viewing our WEDDING VIDEO!!! Remember I said a FEW, and ONLY A FEW! You know it is kinda top secret! However, here is proof we really did get married in Vegas. Oh - if you look close you can see the Elvis watch Matt is wearing. That is the closest thing to Elvis we could afford that day.

Happy Birthday, Aunt Linda!

Top row: Uncle Jay, Tiffany, Amy, Matty, Aunt Linda, Diane and Aunt Elaine
Front row: Grandma Niederhauser

Tiffany, Stacey and Amy (Miss America #1, #2 and #3!)

I wanted to give a shout out to my wonderful Aunt Linda. Today was her special day. She is such a special person to our family. While our brief stay in Utah she was always there for us. We spent many family gatherings together with her and her children. Our boys had so much fun playing with Linda's grandbabies. We cherish the memories of our times spent together. Here are a few photos. The first being many of the Niederhauser's. The second is a picture of my cousins Tiffany & Stacey (Linda's daughters) with me! We love you Linda!

All I Want for Christmas is My 2 Front Teeth?

Today while Matt and I (mostly Matt) were cleaning up the kitchen we heard a large bang following by horrible crying. We walked around our kitchen counter to see Brinley on the ground with my Sizzix Big Shot on her face. She had pulled it down on top of her and it hit her right in the mouth. Here is a link to the Big Shot. You will notice it weighs 12 pounds!!

Click HERE to view the Big Shot die cut machine.

So after Matt checked her out we think she may be okay? A little blood around her 2 front teeth and a very scared face is the damage. I think 1 of her teeth may be loose, but Matt doesn't think so.

I just don't want my cute little 2 year old to have missing front teeth this early in life. Some of you may remember when Ethan knocked out 1 of his front teeth when he was 3. It took YEARS for the new tooth to come in.

I was too traumatized to take a picture of the "incident". I will keep you posted! I guess it won't be too bad if her tooth/teeth fall out . . . we do live in Kentucky now!!!

Thank you Tami for helping me insert a link!

It's Raining, It's SNOWING!

It is snowing here. That is not that common this early in the year. My kids are counting on no school tomorrow. You'd think that would be a fat chance, but last year they cancelled school since there was snow in the forecast. That day it didn't even snow! Sorry for the below par photos. If it is still around tomorrow I will take better pictures that will include the kiddos!

Wowzers!

The artist that is doing the Watercolor Portrait giveaway left me a comment on my blog. Wowzers! I sure hope I win!

Thank Heavens for an Artistic Brother!

This past Sunday we had a Primary Teacher Training Meeting. My brother Luke, who is crazy talented in the art department (which I am not) designed the cute artwork that is on these bags. We provided a bag for each teacher in primary. Our meeting turned out great thanks to April (Matt's sister) and Carolyn (Matt's mother) and my terrific presidency. Each of them provided a lot of ideas and helps! I couldn't have done it without you! Thanks ladies!! And a big huge "thank you" to Luke!

Commissioned Watercolor Portrait GIVEAWAY!!!!

Commissioned Watercolor Portrait GIVEAWAY!!!!

Decisions, Decisions!

Today after Ashton arrived home from school I started talking to him about his upcoming birthday. I asked him if he would like to go Chuck E. Cheese w/just his family, Gattitown w/just his family, go Cosmic Bowling or take a few friends to a movie. He first said he wanted to go to his Grandma's in St. Louis for his birthday. Sorry Charlie - not an option. He then decided that going to a movie with a few buddies sounded the best. He immediately wanted to drive over to the movie theater to see what was showing. I informed him that the movie choices would probably be changing before his December 3rd birthday. We drove over there anyway. Once we got there he said, "High School Musical 3, Mom . . . that's what I want to see." So there you have it - Ashton wants to see High School Musical 3. I wonder if it matters that he never saw High School Musical 1 or 2??? Do you think his buddies are going to be excited for this selection, or what?

More Funnies from "The Ashman!"

Today after I picked up Ashton from the bus stop we started chatting. This is how it went.

Ashton: Mom, do you know what I am going to buy when I have $500 bucks?

Me: Hmmm . . . a laptop? (he always says that)

Ashton: Nope, I am going to buy 490 people of Star Wars.

Me: Are there 490 different "people of Star Wars?"

Ashton: Yep!

So there you have it! I wonder if by the time Ashton has $500 the stores will still be selling Star Wars merchandise?

Ashton at his finest!

Tonight when the boys were supposed to be sleeping, I heard quite a bit of commotion in their room. Ya, I know, Surprise, Surprise! Anyway, I went in their room and Ashton had a book in his hands. Another Surprise. I told Ashton to hand over the book. He said, "Mom, I want to sleep with it because I like the Chinese Castle on the cover!"

Hard at Work? Or Hardly Working?

Today Matt had to go into work so he let Ethan go along for the ride. I guess they just goof off at work????

And the Winner is . . . .

Today Ethan was awarded with the Paw Power Award - Outstanding Student. The PTA had all the teachers pick a boy and girl who were "Outstanding" for the first nine weeks of school. Ethan and his friend Emily were the winners of his class. Congratulations Ethan! He also received a coupon for a free cheese pizza from Domino's Pizza. That is what he is most excited about!

Who does this child belong to?

Every morning Ryan asks me what he can wear. Long arms? or shorts? Today I told him "long sleeves, long pants". So after he got himself dressed, he came and paid me a visit. Here is the dialogue

Mom: "Ryan, you don't need a beater on, you will be too hot."
Ryan: "Mom, I not have anything on."
Mom: "Ah, you don't?"
Ryan: "Nope!"
Mom: "Ryan, I can see it."

After a fight and a half, I was able to get a few photos! Who taught him how to get dressed anyway? Enjoy!

Fore!

Today we ventured out to Frankfort, KY (the Capital) to get haircuts and hit a bucket of balls. Matt has really gotten into doing this lately. On our last visit to St. Louis, Matt brought home a bunch of my Dad's golf clubs. He has been having fun trying them all out. Ethan and Ashton have really enjoyed going to the driving range too. Check them out! I've also added some videos. We didn't say we were good, just having fun!
