The Best Part of Waking Up!

Don't Say It!!!

This morning while browsing on Facebook, I read the status of a very funny friend of mine. Many of you know her, Cindy Popp Smyly. Her status read, "Cameron used a word he heard from his daddy 2x this morning!"

This status reminded me of a time about 20 years ago when my younger brother was just a pup. Maybe 5 or so years old.

I can't remember all the details leading up to this, but I remember him being really mad about something. Then out of his little mouth he said, "I'm gonna say a bad word" then he paused, then he said it . . . . "Knife!" He was so serious when he said it. Like he was saying the worst word in the entire world. We laughed, and laughed and then laughed some more. To this day when I hear people say something about a "bad word" I wonder if they are thinking about saying "knife!"

Honk, Honk!

Today while Brinley and I were driving Matt back to his office after lunch, Brinley was snacking on some of Matt's leftover animal crackers. Every once in a while she'd ask what animal the cracker was. At one point she asked about a certain cracker and I told her I couldn't tell since I was driving and couldn't look. I said it is probably a lamb though (since they all look like a lamb to me). Anywho, she replied, "Lambs don't have honks, Mommy!" Matt and I could not stop laughing. So I guess the cracker was a rhino???

CrAzInEsS!!!

Today when I was reading some facebook status', I came across one that blew my mind! She (Sara, my HS friend) was giving Lindsey Vonn a virtual hi-5 for being a Burnsville (MN) native and learning how to ski at Buck Hill. The part that blew me away was I AM A BURNSVILLE NATIVE WHO LEARNED HOW TO SKI AT BUCK HILL TOO!!!! So think about this, if I would have kept at it (skiing in the coldest temps known to man with wet hair since I had swimming 7th hour right before leaving for ski club) I could have been an Olympic Gold Medalist! Now how about that! Okay, that would have never happened, but it's always fun to dream!!

Snow Day!

Tag! You're It!

Tonight was Ashton and Ethan's last basketball practice of the season. Ethan's coach made the executive decision to ditch practice and play indoor laser tag in the gym instead. He and his wife own a portable laser tag company and were kind enough to let the kid and their families play about a million rounds of laser tag. They also provided pizza for everyone. A few of the moms brought cakes too. The boys had very good experiences this year with Upward Basketball. Here are some pictures of the fun!
(You may notice there are no photos of Ashton or Ryan - well that is because they were either too hidden or too fast!)

Let the Games Begin!

I love the Olympic Games, especially the Winter Games!! I have many memories growing up watching the Games with my family. I am just as excited this year!! I have always enjoyed watching figure skating, but I also love downhill skiing, bobsled, ski jumping (ever since Eddie the Eagle), and speed skating. Matt really enjoys Curling. What are your favorite Winter Olympic Events?
