Easter Sunday

Here are a couple photos from today. We should have taken the photos BEFORE church, but of course we were running late so we had to wait until AFTER church.

Our day trip to Cincinnati

Today we traveled north to visit Matthew's sister Sarah and her family. We started the day off playing frisbee and baseball. We then had a delicious BBQ'd dinner. I think it might have been the best meal I've ever had. Everything tasted so yummy. We then ventured over to their friend's house around the corner for an egg hunt. This family also joined us for dinner. The kids had a good time finding the eggs with their name on it. After the fun filled egg hunt we went back to Sarah's for a delicious dessert. The weather was great, the company was even better. Thanks guys for hosting another fantastic Easter!!

Almost Heaven . . . West Virginia!

Today we decided to take a drive to our neighboring state, West Virginia. We drove 2hours to Huntington, which is just over the border into WV. They call it the Tri-State area because Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia all meet there. It was a beautiful day to walk around and enjoy the scenery. We went to Marshall University depicted in the movie "We are Marshall",

ate pizza at Uno's within the Pullman Square area (shopping district)

and we finished it up by going to Ritter Park. It is supposedly one of the top 10 playgrounds in the country, but I don't really think that is right. It was definitely different since there was only concrete, not plastic, but there was WAY too much sand for my liking.

As far as Marshall University, Randy Moss, Chad Pennington and Byron Leftwich all played football there and went on to play in the NFL.

Let's go to the Park!

Since it got up to 75 degrees today I decided to take the kids to the local park. I saw one of my neighbors as I was leaving the neighborhood and invited her to come along with her darling daughter. We had a great time.

Excuse me Sir, Do you have any Grey Poupon?

I Love Mustard.

(This is a true story. If you have children you will probably relate to this father).

As ham sandwiches go, it was perfection: a thick slab of ham on a fresh bun with crisp lettuce and plenty of expensive, light brown, Gourmet Mustard.

The corners of my jaw aching in anticipation, I carried it to the table in our backyard, picked it up with both hands, but was stopped by my wife suddenly at my side.

Here, hold Johnny (our six-week-old son) while I get my sandwich,' she said.

I had him balanced between my left elbow and shoulder and was reaching again for the ham sandwich when I noticed a streak of mustard on my fingers.

I love mustard.

I had no napkin.

I licked it off.

It was not mustard.

No man ever put a baby down faster...

It was the first and only time I have sprinted with my tongue protruding out.

With a washcloth in each hand, I did the sort of routine shoeshine boys do, only I did it on my tongue.

Later, after she stopped crying from laughing so hard, my wife said, 'Now you know why they call that fancy mustard Poupon.''
