Still Collecting

Ethan is continuing his quest to be the top "Box Top" collector in his class. He is currently in 2nd place. His teacher has provided each student the opportunity to earn rewards based on the amount of Box Tops they bring in. So far, Ethan has earned a homework coupon, extra 15 minutes of computer time, lunch with teacher, play WII game with teacher and a few others. Each month they have the opportunity to earn these items. So . . . . . . . if you are looking for a place to dispose of your Box Tops, send them our way. Playin' some good "D"

Today both Ethan and Ashton had their basketball games. They hadn't played since 2 weeks before Christmas and haven't practiced since then either. You would think they would be a little rusty, but they were NOT at ALL. They both won their games and Ethan's game came down to the wire. They won at the buzzer. Wow, who knew that 3rd and 4th grade basketball games could be so exciting?

Here are a few pictures of them as well as a video of Ethan playing some pretty good "D". He was matched up with an AMAZON sized child. Ethan did very well against him and even kept him from scoring a basket.

Just so ya know . . . in case you didn't already know . . . the Sears Tower is not called the Sears Tower anymore. Seriously? So a British Insurance Gr oup named Willis Group Holdings is now it's current occupant. Therefore, the Sears Tower is now called Willis Tower. Dumb! Just like I call all the other named changed facilities/buildings in America their original name . . . I will continue to call this building by it's original name. So there! Oh - and it hasn't been called the Sears Tower for a while now. . . like since July.

Yay for Today!

Today is the 1st snow day of the 2009-2010 school year. I am actually happy for it. I'm sure if you ask me later . . . my happiness may have disappeared. At least for now, while I am still warm in my bed, I am happy!

A Day of Reflection

I know that I am WAAAAAY behind on my blog. I have a lot of posts in my head and many a video downloads to post. But I couldn't wait to blog about this day.

Today marks the 3rd anniversary of my Dad's death. As I reflect today I can't help but think of all the fun times I had with him.

I know I have mentioned most of these before, but a few of my favorite memories of him are these:

- Dad being my softball coach for many, many years!
- He taking me to his office many summer days, only to slip out after lunch for a day filled with shopping!
- He always telling me to tell my Mom that the purchased items (on above referenced shopping trips) were on sale!
- He driving me and my friends to many Burnsville Hockey Games - some were very far away and many were in very bad weather.
- He drove me to seminary all 4 years.
- He fed all my babies their first bottle.
- He called my boys on the phone every day just to chat.
- He told jokes very well.
- He had an interesting childhood that made for some great Sunday dinner stories.
- He loved socializing with others.
- He loved my friends and was thankful for them.
- He got to ride in one of my company helicopters and talked about it afterwards for years! That made me happy.
- He appreciated me - especially my vast computer knowledge. (Well maybe not vast, but he thought so!)
- He loved to sneak my baby boys snacks, especially ice cream and COKE!!
- He was always looking for a new water feature for Ethan.
- He always got down on the floor and played with the boys even though it was hard.
- He was my biggest fan!

I love you and miss you Dad!!
