Today we ventured down to Bowling Green, KY (southwest of us) to the
National Corvette Museum. We had won passes from the Silent Auction at the school carnival last weekend and decided to take a look-see!
So here is the low down . . . if you like corvettes go visit it. If you don't, then don't! It is pretty reasonable in my opinion. You can get a "family pass" for $25. We had fun, but doubt it will become an annual visit.
One part of the museum that we enjoyed was a display of muscle cars that will be there until some time in June. That portion of the museum rotates every couple months. It was a fabulous collection!!
And FYI, Corvettes are manufacturered in Bowling Green. How about that?

| This was a virtual pit stop that they kids enjoyed playing. They rotated between filling the gas tank, using a fire extinguisher, and two different torque wrenchs to change the tires. It was pretty neat! |

I guess another thing to note is a lot (most, I think) of the corvettes on display are on loan from private owners, so the cars on display change often.
And one last thing . . . in 1983 there was a BIG HIT called "
Little Red Corvette" by Prince. This was a very popular song, even more so for me considering Prince lived near where I lived in 1983 . . . anyway . . . when my friends and I were together and this song would come on the radio we all had different ideas on what Prince was singing. One of my friends thought he was singing, "baby, baby come back." Another friend thought, "way, oh way, co pay". So every time I hear that song (and we did hear it on our weekend getaway) I can't help but laugh while I sing, "Way, oh way co pay"
