PTA Reflections

If you can remember back to last year, Ryan had 4 of his photographs win Award of Excellence in the PTA Reflections contest.  He was thrilled on the last day of school when they awarded him 4 huge blue ribbons.  That defininately caught the attention of his older brothers . . . .

Needless to say, this year all 3 boys entered the PTA Reflections contest.  The theme this year was Diversity Means . . .

This year we decided to head over to the Apple Orchard for some picture taking!  Ashton also took pictures of friends for his entry.  All their pictures turned out really, really good.  I was impressed!

Late last night I received an email from Ryan's teacher (the Reflections Boss at the school) that all 3 boys received an Award of Excellence (and Ryan earned 2!)  This means their photographs will go on to the next level (State).

Next week, November 17th we will get to see all the entries at the Scott County Museum where they will be honored.

Here are the award winners . . . and the others too!

Ryan's "Autumn Delight" -  Award of Merit

Duck, Duck, GOOSE!

Today since the kids were out of school (which I think is totally dumb great that they don't have school for ELECTION DAY) we decided to venture over to the local park and feed the ducks.  Ashton was totally freaked out until about 2 minutes left in the adventure.  Here are some pictures.

This poor goose needs a facelift!

Preschool Fall Festival

Today I was lucky enough to be a helper at Brinley's Fall Festival.  Due to rainfall it had to be indoors.  The kids had a blast playing in a hay maze (hello allergies, my old friend!), pumpkin bowling, ring toss, digging in corn kernels and more.  Good times for sure!

Halloween Night

Here are a few pictures of the kids before they ventured off to trick or treat.  Ethan was an old man, Ashton a vampire, Brinley was Jasmine and Ryan was also a vampire.  This year we had a few more families walk around the neighborhood with is.  The weather was perfect - the kids had a ball!

Halloween or "Fall" at School

Today the boys had their class party at school.  Ethan and Ryan's classes had a halloween party, but Ashton's class had a fall party.  Gone are the days when the odd man out has to go sit in the library and read books during the party - instead the entire rest of the class gets to conform to their beliefs (or lack thereof).  If you can't tell I think the new system is bogus!

This year I was able to help more than usual.  Since all the kids are in school for a major part of my day I had some time to prepare some fun games.  I provided 3 different bingo games to 6 different classes, provided a pumpkin "roll the dice" game to 6 different classes and tried my best to be in 3 classes at the same time!  Since the party was on a Friday I was able to bring Brinley along for the fun.

The first few pictures are of the kids before they left for school  Ethan is an old man and Ryan is a hot dog.  No idea where Ashton was at the time.  He was a motorcycle rider . . .

Here are pictures of Ethan's party festivities . . . his class did fun experiments with dry ice, played a few games and had yummy treats!

Ethan and one of his besties!

Next up is Ashton's party . . . They painted pumpkins, play a few games and had yummy treats.  Ashton isn't a fan of getting his picture taken.

Last but not least is Mr. Party Animal himself, Ryan!  He was lovin life at his party.  They did a fun toilet paper mummy contest, played many games and had fun foods.

Ryan's teacher wore a mohawk to school.

I didn't get any good alone shots of Brinley, but she wore a flapper outfit that I wore in 1st grade.  She was a doll!
