Farm Experts
Today we decided to head to the mall for some family fun. Our first stop was Auntie Anne's for a free pretzel. Luckily I had seen on FB that they were doing that today. Following that the kids got to see the Cat in the Hat who was there for a "Read across America" event. Well you can't go to the mall without loitering at the Apple Store for an hour or so playing on there toys so off we went. On our walk there we saw a Farm Bureau booth with a spinning game the kids wanted to play. So you spin the wheel, it lands on a question and depending if you get it right or not you get a gift.
Question 1: "how do you measure a horse?"
Ethan: "by your hands". CORRECT
Question 2: "what do you call a baby goat?"
All children: (blank stares)
Mom: "it is something you all are."
Ryan: "pigs!!"
Mom & Dad: (laughter - and exclaim YES! but that is not right!)
Mom: "the answer is kid." CORRECT
Question 3: "What do you call a female chicken?"
Ryan: "a hen." CORRECT
Question 4: "What do you call a baby horse?"
Brinley: "a colt." CORRECT. The answer could have been foal, colt or filly depending on specifics.
All four children left with a spray hand sanitizer and a foam farm tractor (like a stress ball). Good thing since we were off to the Apple Store where germs are on steroids!!
So after mingling at the Apple Store we decided to hit the road. Fun times at the mall, especially when everything is FREE!! You can't say that everyday!
Pictures coming!

Discount Movies in town
Today I took the kids to see The Muppets. It was fair. I was expecting better. I thought it took a while to "kick in". However I only spent $3.75 for all 5 of us to see it, so no big woop.
Here are the deets on Lexington Green 8 Movie Theater (located by the Target by Mall)
Mondays - $0.75 all day/all movies
Tuesdays - $1.00
Wednesdays - $1.50
Thursdays - $1.50
Fridays/Saturday AFTER 6pm $2.00
If you desire to see movie in 3D (don't do it!!!) add $2/ticket
YOU CANNOT BEAT THIS PLACE!!! It is a clean theater and all you have to do is wait about 2-3 months to see the movie. A price I definitely can pay!!

Preamble by Ethan
This year Ethan is in 5th grade. They got an assignment on Thursday that they need to memorize the Preamble to the Constitution by Tuesday. Here is Ethan's trial run before due date tomorrow. The head shake at the very end may or may not have been his response when I told him to say Booyah at the end. :)

Oh, Groundhog
Today we were supposed to get a bunch of snow. It has been talked about all week. As we got closer to today the forecast keep tweaking forecasting less and less snow. We went from 2-5" forecasted early in the week to last night the weatherman saying it would be a dusting to 2". Considering I had my Sunday School lesson completely prepared, I felt I had secured a huge snow storm and church would surely be cancelled.
We got nothing. NOTHING! Shoot!!! The storm hit to the south where it did drop quite a bit of snow.
So later today I mentioned to Ashton and Ryan that I was bummed that winter missed us. Ryan commented back with, "has it been 6 weeks ALREADY?" hahaha!

More Winners!
Today we received information that Ryan, Ashton and Ethan's PTA Reflections Entries won at the Divisional Level and are bound for State. The only photograph that didn't make it was Ryan's Flower City. Of course, we are very proud of these boys.
HERE is the link to the post with the pictures. We will keep you posted on how the photographs do at State.
