Bengal Spottings in Georgetown!

Today I ventured out with the boys to Georgetown College to watch Day #1 of the Cincinnati Bengals Training Camp. We have wanted to do this since we moved here 4 years ago. We arrived about 1 hour early, got a primo seat and waited for the festivities to begin. I will admit I was very, very surprised how much I enjoyed it. I have always been a sports fan, of all sorts (except that dumb sport of soccer - sorry Yadon Babe) but not not necessarily a Bengals fan. I will, however, watch them a little closer this season. It doesn't hurt that T.O. joined the troops. With his addition, it should be a very fun and interesting year.

Overall, the boys were pretty good. They were a little bored at times - wanting to see touchdowns (and Ryan wanted to see Cheerleaders). I had to continue to explain this was a PRACTICE, not a real game. They were really cute/good when it was autograph time. They scored several (10-15) autographs a piece. All in all, a super night!!

Oh - the only bad part was . . . . the players were divided into 2 color jerseys. Black ones and white ones. Does anyone see where this is going???? I told the boys that we mainly wanted the white JERSEY players. They were T.O., Ochocinco, Palmer boys, etc. So anyway, Ashton kept yelling, "Mom, I want the white players autographs. Where are they?" I had to keep reminding him, you mean the white JERSEY players (as I was starring face to face with 300+ pound black football players).

Below are photos of the big night.

Kid in white is not mine even though he blends right in.

One of My Favorite Things

Today I had to do Census work in Owenton, KY. I've decided I just might move there. It is a very pretty town. The people are friendly, the scenery is magnificent, and the commute to a "big city" is minimal.

On the way there, I passed a very cute barn with a darling barn"quilt". I'm ALMOST positive that is what they are called. However, just like most days, I was behind schedule and didn't stop to take a picture. BUT, I remembered exactly where it was so I could stop on my way home to get a picture. And that I did! This barn quilt was a little different from most that I have seen. Most look like a traditional quilt using shapes. I thought this was so cute since it is the pattern of the quilt my Mom had made for my Grandma. Cute stuff!

My dad LOVED barns. He enjoyed the roadtrips to Kentucky since he was able to see lots of beautiful barns. I have picked up that love of barns too. How can you not love a beautiful barn. Whether newer or almost ready to fall, barns rock!

Are ya with me?

(Barn located on KY 368 just before it meets KY 127)

Morph Mania

For Ethan's birthday he got a Nintendo DS XL. It has been a fun addition to our family. We can do fun (or scary) stuff like this . . .

Treats Anyone?

We arrived home from a very long vacation tonight. While unpacking, Ryan asked where the Neosporin was. I told him in the toiletry bag. He replied, "toilet treats? That's gross!" Funny kid!

F.I.N.A.L.L.Y.

Today Ashton finally wore shorts. First time this year. Blog worthy, I know!

And . . . I realize this is a very random, unrelated picture to post with this. The only relation this picture has to the post is that this is probably the very first time Ashton slept like a normal person instead of all cock-eyed. And how do you properly spell cock-eyed anyway?

Okay, Okay

So I bet you are all DYING to know why I asked about Barbara Jean, right? Well Sarah, the Stalker, you are C.O.R.R.E.C.T.! It is Missy Peterman. And yes, I can call her Missy because we are FRIENDS! As in Facebook friends. As in Junior High and High School friends. Yep. We went to school together. Cool, I know! I actually found one of my yearbooks that she signed. If I can ever find it again, I will show ya!

Just think it is pretty fun that I know a celeb! And she is a pretty funny one too!
